Weekend of Baking

Even though I spend roughly 15 hours in the kitchen during each week of pastry school, I am still eager to get my hands into some dough on the weekends and tune up my skills. I’ve been eying the engine red Kitchenaid stand mixer at Bed, Bath and Beyond for almost a full year, and this is the weekend I’m going to take the plunge and buy one. (I’m so excited to stop using my $5.99 hand mixer that feels like it’s going to catch on fire after 4 minutes of use) Naturally I’m going to want to test out such a nice shiny piece of equipment, which means a weekend of baking! We’re perfecting our bread dough skills in school right now, so I think I’m going to take a break and roll out some cookies or pile up a cake or two. If you’re looking for some terrific recipes for the weekend (even if you don’t have a stand mixer!), check out our cookies, bars, cakes and breads categories on RecipeLion. Below are just a few examples of some of the scrumptious recipes we have.

I am looking for a recipe that the school I was in use to serve years ago.It was an oatmeal and cranberry bar.the bottom was like an oatmeal cookie {tastes like it]the middle was cranberry sauce, then the top was the same as the bottom. It was crunchy and gooey at the sametime.I LOVED IT!! and cant find the recipe,I have an idea but I want to be sure. Can you help?
