Monthly Morsel Question: What’s the best burger you ever ate?

For the March Monthly Morsel question, we asked you “What’s the best burger you ever ate?”  Some people like restaurant burgers, some people like homemade.  The answers run the gamut. Check them out:

From Danica, Danica’s Daily

It is really hard to pick the BEST burger I ever ate because I don’t discriminate when it comes to grilled burgers icon biggrin Monthly Morsel Question: Whats the best burger you ever ate? ~ I LOVE them all – veggie burgers, chicken burgers, turkey burgers, beef burgers…the list goes on.  If I had to pick ONE that stands out in my mind it would be The Works Burger ~ this burger came with everything! It had BBQ sauce cooked in the meat and caramelized on the outside, then, it was topped with melted smoked Cheddar, bacon, sautéed mushrooms and onions plus AVOCADO! Sometimes the BEST things in life are not always healthy, but, man, remembering that Works Burger makes me want it again!

From Suzanne Dawes, Sunshine Mom

The best burger I ever ate was from a restaurant in Wichita, KS. It’s called The Western Burger and has applewood smoked bacon, a fried onion, and BBQ sauce on top of a thick patty. I live in Florida now, but would consider going back to KS just for that burger!

From Robyn Lee, The Girl Who Ate Everything

As for the best burger I ever ate, I’d rather call it “my favorite burger:”  The Shack Burger from Shake Shack in NYC (clichéd answer, I know).  It’s a simple, juicy, salty, well-sized burger that’s nicely put together. But right behind Shake Shack are the burgers from Rub BBQ. Unfortunately, Rub only serves burgers on Monday, so they’re not as accessible.

From Cara Riggles, The Friendly Frugalista

I’ve been thinking about this for a while. I know I’ve had a “best burger,” but I can’t remember when and where. I think it was home-made though. icon surprised Monthly Morsel Question: Whats the best burger you ever ate? ) The Hardee’s Angus Thickburger is quite good for fast food. Love me some Angus! Speaking of Angus, I actually think my favorite burger is a…STEAK!

From Jarvis Holliday, Grown People Talking

Big Daddy’s Burger Bar in Ballantyne is where I ate the best burger ever! I decided to order Nick’s Patty Melt, which for $8.50 is described as a “basic burger on rye toast with Swiss cheese, grilled onions, mayo, and Dijon mustard.” For my side, I chose sweet potato fries. This was not a basic burger–it blew me away. The bread was flavorful, the patty was juicy, and the combination of onions and sauce–when I usually don’t eat onions–had me licking my fingers.

Double Breakfast Burger. Hamburger patty, grilled onions, sausage patty, soft fried egg next to bottom bun, bun grilled top and bottom, cheese between each layer. MMMMMMM

My Dad’s burgers are the best! But if you mean out… I still like In-n-Out’s burgers. And miss them so much since moving out of CA. Simple, messy but oh so good!

Five Guys! Doesn’t compare to In-n-Out (that used to be my fave).

From Teresa Collett, via our Facebook Fan Page (and Jolene Maier agrees on Red Robin)

I’m thinking now it would be one from Red Robin or Lonestar.

There’s a place in Appleton WI called Good Company, they have a Company burger that is dripping with sauteed onions, mushrooms and just about anything else you could think of – it is a 5 napkin burger and awesome!

Thanks to everyone for all the delicious responses!
