3 Quick and Easy Quick Breads

Posted by Caley on July 6th, 2009 at 06:26am

I love to bake bread. For breakfast or an afternoon snack, a slice of homemade bread is perfect.  The smell of freshly baking bread just makes me feel cozy in my home. I will admit that yeast can be such a pain. Waiting twice for the dough to rise really tests my patience. That’s why I love quick breads.  Sure, muffins and scones are fantastic, but I do prefer something I can slice myself.

Zucchini Bread- This super-healthy recipe does everything right but also tastes great. Honey and maple syrup replace sugar and the recipe features whole wheat flour, wheat germ and of course, zucchini. Since zucchini is in season right now, give this bread a try.

Applesauce Bread-You may already know that applesauce can replace some or all of the oil in many baking recipes. This bread still has a bit of oil but primarily uses applesauce to stay moist.

Banana Bread- This recipe is not necessarily healthy, but banana bread makes such a tasty treat on occasion. Add dark chocolate chips for an extra-special touch.
